In that career you learn fast how to read a situation, figure out what's actually wrong, and fix it without making it more complicated than it needs to be. You also meet a lot of small business owners. The plumber who just finished a twelve-hour day. The dentist running a practice by herself. The guy who built a landscaping company from nothing and has no idea why his phone isn't ringing like it used to. Good people. Good businesses. Getting hurt by problems they didn't create and didn't have time to solve.
What I kept seeing was the same thing over and over.
